Local Artiste shares Joy of being a Vegetarian at "Super Veggie Super Fun" Event

Although she is nearly 60 years old, the secret to her good health is adopting a vegetarian diet! Famous Singaporean artiste Liu Lingling was one of the visitors to Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre. Having been a vegetarian for 6 years, she shared her experience being one with the public. This was one of the segments of the "Super Veggie Super Fun" event. On the first and third Saturdays of each month, there are various programmes, sharing sessions, and educational booths to raise public awareness of vegetarian food, so as to encourage more to change their diets.

Children: I have a little wish to see flowers blooming in the garden

Famous Singaporean artiste Liu Lingling made an appearance at Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre to share her experience of being a vegetarian.

Liu Ling Ling: I went to provide free haircuts as a volunteer, I asked grandma how old I was. “You? In your thirties”. That's the benefit of being a vegetarian.

Having been a vegetarian for 6 years, Liu Lingling experienced all the benefits and became a vegetarian ambassador to share the power of plant-based food.

Liu Ling Ling, Artiste: For a human being, doing good is actually very important. Many people say that I can’t do good deeds. Don’t eat animals, that’s already a good deed, it’s that simple. So, to be a kind person, if you let go of these lives, you are saving living beings.

Goo Lay Moi, Member of the public: After listening to Sister Lingling's sharing, I feel very touched. I will feel more inclined towards vegetarianism. I will also think that now I should slowly study how to cook some vegetarian food, and then cook for my family.

The interesting performances, sharing sessions and educational booths are all the efforts of the volunteers to promote vegetarian diet on the first and third Saturdays of every month.

Chang Wai Lee, Member of the public: I heard the nutritionist say just now that what we absorb from vegetables is the most important. So, you have to eat the right food to be healthy. By going meatless, there won’t be so many issues of killing lives.

Children: The cows no longer have to cry. The chicks have their mothers accompany them.

May more people hear this innocent wish of a child. In line with the upcoming Earth Day, invest in our planet by adopting a green diet.
