Green technology prolongs the lifespan of resources

“Technology begins with human nature”.

Inventors and R & D teams from around the world showcased their various products and technologies at the COP25 summit and explained how they could help solve pollution and climate change issues.

Carlos, a Spanish inventor shared that his team had come out with a technology that was able to transfer heat stored in water to the structure of a building and convert it into a thermal battery. He further explained that this would help to change the way energy is managed and completely eradicate the need for fossil fuels.

Tzu Chi Taiwan’s Jing Si Pureland’s newly invented eco products and technology were also on displayed at the summit. Among them was the technology of separating plastic from paper in single-use coffee cups and meal boxes, and then converting the materials into tissue paper and interlocking bricks, thereby putting waste products into good use.

The head of Jing Si Pureland’s R & D team, Marshall Siao, said, “Our main purpose of attending this summit is to learn from others by seeing how others work (to tackle the issue of climate change). But most importantly, we are also here to let everyone know the compassion and wisdom of Dharma Master Cheng Yen (in mitigating environmental issues). So, we have brought a lot of our newly invented eco products to introduce to everyone.”

In particular, Jing Si Pureland’s newly invented eco cutleries and plastic wood drew a lot of attention and queries from the event’s attendees.

Owen, a student from Virginia Tech in the United States was greatly impressed with Tzu Chi’s global efforts. He said that he came from a very innovative campus and that it brought joy to his heart to see how Tzu Chi is putting in a lot of effort to help resolve major problems in the world. He expressed his appreciation for all the work Tzu Chi has done.

Technology and products are merely  tools. Only when people are willing  to take the first step to make a change can pollution and global warming be mitigated.
