Missions & Objectives
Paving the Path of Great Love in the Lion City
In 50 years, Singapore has made a remarkable transformation from a third world backwater to a first world global financial and commercial hub. Tzu Chi, which was founded in Taiwan just one year after the independence of Singapore, has likewise established its presence globally from its humble beginnings in the rural east coast of Taiwan. With the spirit of selfless love and a strong faith in the goodness of humanity, the Foundation has inspired countless people around the world to serve as its volunteers.
Tzu Chi Singapore strives to live out the values of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and giving, to fulfil the three aspirations of Dharma Master Cheng Yen (founder of Tzu Chi), namely, purifying hearts and minds, bringing about harmony in society, and mitigating disasters in the world. To achieve this, it has established the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore) and Buddhist Tzu Chi Merit Organization (Singapore) Ltd., which carry out various missions and works that benefit the community.
