Bringing Recycling Promotion to New Heights in the New Year

On the morning of 15 January, a group of Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association members were spotted at the Redhill Market greeting everyone with Chinese New Year wishes. In their hands were not conventional Chinese couplets but sheets of handmade posters. These youths, known as Tzu Chings, have decided to extend the promotion of their recycling awareness effort by walking out of the Redhill Tzu Chi recycling point into the neighbourhood.

A ‘Dharma Assembly’ for the 2011 Year-End Blessing Ceremonies

On the first weekend of 2012, Tzu Chi Singapore held four rounds of ceremonies for its 2011 Year-End Blessings at Kallang Theatre. 143 volunteers came together to present a portion of the Water Repentance sutra adaptation, a Buddhist classic about the law of karma written by Master Wu Da in the Tang Dynasty. The scene of the casts and audience collectively motioning to the Great Repentance verse emanated an air of peace and serenity in the theatre.

Celebrating New Year and Warming Hearts with Love and Care

1 January 2012 was a joyous occasion for 286 care recipients and their families who were invited for the annual New Year celebration with 250 volunteers at Tzu Chi’s Jing Si Hall. Seated at the round tables, they were entertained with performances and treated to delicious vegetarian meals prepared by the volunteers. A new year begins with love and warmth showered on them, giving them moral support and wishing them well for the days ahead.
