Delivering Stationery to Children in Haiti

Volunteers returned to Haiti to deliver 200,000 items of stationery to 4700 children in two cities. They found the country little changed since they left at the start of April, with most of the reconstruction work still to do.

Volunteers Spread Green Message in Tiong Bahru Community Day

The Resident Committees of Kg Tiong Bahru West and Kim Tian West jointly organized the Tiong Bahru Community Day on 16 May 2010 and invited Tzu Chi Singapore to set up an eco-awareness exhibition at the event. It was a good opportunity to share the message of conservation with members of the public, engaging more to become gardeners of Mother Earth.

Raising Environmental Awareness in Yumin Primary’s Family Day

Tzu Chi Singapore was invited by Tampines East RC Zone 1 to take part in the 35th Anniversary and Family Day of Yumin Primary School when they were in discussions for a new recycling point in the constituency. Besides running educational booth, the volunteers steered a litter-free campaign at the event. The way they stooped and picked up litters resembled a pious pilgrimage.

Improving Family Dynamic & Parent-Child Bonding in Mee Toh School

Mee Toh School in Punggol is the first primary school to engage Tzu Chi’s Great Love Mothers team where they were given a slot before the afternoon class to interact with the primary one and two pupils. The Parent-Child Bonding Camp on 15 May finally let the parents to meet the “mothers” whom their children fondly speak of.

On Sunday, the Tzu Chi Foundation celebrated the birthday of the Buddha and its own anniversary at ceremonies around the world. More than 260,000 people took part in 285 events in 32 countries and regions.

Buddha Day Ceremony Held At Tzu Chi National School

While worldwide Tzu Chi communities were preparing for their respective ceremony to honor the birth of Buddha, Tzu Chi staff in the Buddhist country of Sri Lanka held its ceremony three days earlier in Tzu Chi National School. Nearly 300 people gathered to show their reverence toward the Enlightened One.
