Tea Appreciation for TIMA members

Tzu Chi Singapore Branch held a tea session to show their appreciation to the volunteers from Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) for their dedicated contribution over the years. 48 medical professionals and 26 medical volunteers gathered together to spend a heartwarming and joyous afternoon. The TIMA members also took the opportunity to share their learning and experience from the Annual TIMA Convention in Taiwan.

A Love Relay across the Straits

Born with a deformed face and having lost his eyesight in the right eye, 14-year-old Mahathir bin Ismail, accompanied by his parents, left his hometown Penang on 25 September for a follow-up checkup in Singapore. He was not alone on his journey of treatment; Tzu Chi volunteers from both Singapore and Malaysia took turns to take care of him and his family, making them feel at home.

Where Fears Subsides and Smiles Surfaces

On 26 September, the Tzu Chi Free Clinic Singapore welcomed a number of 13 young beneficiaries from MINDS, providing them dental services such as filling, scaling and tooth extraction. The beneficiaries were also taught how to brush their teeth and maintain good oral health. The doctors and volunteers also planned a series of performances and games, where laughter overpowered fear with the beneficiaries experiencing a soothing dental visit and an enjoyable Sunday!

Great Love Knows No Boundary

It was a sunlit Saturday morning as a warm ray of sunlight filtered through the main entrance of Jing Si Hall and shone onto the hearts of each Tzu Chi volunteer. At 9.00am, everyone was listening attentively to briefings conducted by their respective leaders and getting ready to start the day.  This year’s 3rd Blood Donation Drive at Tzu Chi’s Jing Si Hall is about to commence.

Celebrating a Green Mid-Autumn Festival with Zhong Hua Secondary

Zhong Hua Secondary School invited Singapore Tzu Chi volunteers to set up an eco-awareness exhibition at its Mid-Autumn Festival party on 24 September to add a "green flavour" to the evening event. The volunteers also took the opportunity to promote the up-and-coming Serangoon recycling point, which will be in the school vicinity, to the teachers and students.

Promoting Recycling in Admiralty Mid-Autumn Fest Tea Session

The Tzu Chi recycling point in Admiralty has gathered much involvement from local residents since its inception on 12 Apr 2009. On 19 Sep 2010, Tzu Chi Singapore Branch collaborated with Admiralty Zone 5 RC to hold a tea party to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival and also filial devotion.

Mid-Autumn Reunion with Tzu Chi Care Recipients

On 18 September, around a hundred Tzu Chi care recipients gathered in Jing Si Hall for the annual mid-autumn homecoming get-together. As soon as they saw the familiar faces of home visit volunteers, the care recipients went into raptures updating about their lives and exchanged warm greetings with one another.

Sharing a Simple Lifestyle and Peaceful Mind as a Way of Life

During university days, students are always faced with choices that would determine their futures. Among the common questions are “What subject should I pick?” or “Which sector in the workforce is suitable for me?” etc. In the Tzu Ching diligence session on 18 September, three senior Tzu Chings, who will be certified as Tzu Chi faith corps at the end of the year, shared their growing experiences and the importance of maintaining a pure mind.
