Graduating with Great Fulfilments - Imbuing Daily Lives with Humanistic Values

At the End-of-Term Ceremony cum Exhibition of the Tzu Chi University Continuing Education Centre (Singapore), graduates showcased the fruition of their learning through stage performances and exhibits. Many indicated that not only have they become more cultured, they also made what they learnt an integral part of their daily lives.

Volunteers Honing Skills in First Medical Training

Tzu Chi Health Screening Centre organized a half-day medical training programme on 6 Nov with the aim of improving the quality of its healthcare service and boosting the confidence of medical volunteers in maneuvering medical equipment. A resident doctor was invited as the speaker to enhance the volunteers' awareness and knowledge related to osteoporosis.

Tzu Chi Distributes to 50,000 Pakistanis

On 2 and 3 November, Tzu Chi volunteers distributed instant rice and blankets to 50,000 people displaced by floods and living in camps in the south Pakistan province of Sindh. They also gave out a letter of support from Dharma Master Cheng Yen.

Earnest Community Response in Woodlands Community Day

Making Strides in Colombo

Tzu Chi is expanding its philanthropic activities from the tsunami-hit southern town of Hambantota in Sri Lanka to the former capital city of Colombo, having nine needy families now on its support scheme. On 31 Oct, Tzu Chi volunteers helped Chandrani and her family move to a new house, keeping them in company while they began their new life.

Tzu Chi Singapore Branch’s First English Training Session

Singapore, a cosmopolitan city has a diverse population of close to 5 million people made up of Chinese, Malays, Indians, Asians of various descents and Caucasians. It is therefore not surprising that the most dominant language used in the country is English. It is with the objective of reaching out to a wider spread of people in this island country that the English Group of Tzu Chi Singapore Branch decided to hold its very first New Volunteers Training in English.

Asteroid Named After Tzu Chi

The spirit of Tzu Chi has reached the sky – in the form of an asteroid in a distant galaxy named after it. The scientists who made the discovery decided to name it after the Foundation in honour of its contribution around the world.
